Is O2 a supported SIM wherever you are at (I am assuming so but have to ask).

Might try another SIM if you have one; if it is a supported carrier it should work.

What does this mean on the apple warranty site.

Your product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under Apple's Limited Warranty.
    Expires: December 23, 2009

    Thx

That means your iPhone is under Apple's one year warranty until December 23, 2009.

It is a limited warranty as it won't cover all problems (like water damage). If you are curious here is some warranty information from Apple: link.
