    Hey.

Okay I previously posted a thread about how to unlock the iPhone 1.1.4 using either ZiPhone or iLiberty.

Now I was going to use the full unlock, activate and jailbreak method.
But I dont understand what activation means.
My friend is giving me his SIM card he uses from his old phone and he wants to be able to use it on the iPhone.
What does the activation process got to do with this?
Do I need to use the activation process to activate a SIM that has been already used before, if so, what does it do to both the SIM and the iPhone?
And can someone tell me what the activation process is to?

It's urgent, the deadline is Monday (Sunday, for US people).

    Thanks!

The activation part actually activates the iPhone because it is useless out of the box and you cannot use it until you activate it with AT&T. Well, this process makes the iPhone think it has been activated so you can use another SIM card in it.
