I have an iPod touch 2G MC 8GB running on 4.0 jailbroken using STAR.

I enable battery percentage using sbsettings.

Ive noticed the percentage isnt very accurate.

Ive had my ipod battery drop below 20% after extended use.

I set the ipod down and come back to find its gained battery life, actually up to like 30%.

I full cycle charge my ipod like once a week.

Ive noticed posts about enabling battery percentage through plist editing. Is this method more accurate?

My Battery life itself is excellent. I can go several days of use without charging. I'm not concerned with methods for conserving battery life. I know how to do that.

I just want to know if there is a more accurate method for displaying the battery percentage.

Enable ipt Usage in Cydia it gives you the real Battery Percentage Enabler where you enable in the settings.

Is this method any more accurate? Can anyone confirm?

Much more accurate, I use it. It's the genuine Apple Enable Battery Percentage, the one you enable at the settings. You just enable it in Winterboard and then you go to settings and the Option will be there.

So I installed "enable usage ipt". I toggled it on in winterboard. I then went into settings and under general there is a usuage tab that shows usuage since last charge. But I dont see anyway to enable a battery percentage on the status bar. Im looking for a more accurate status bar battery percentage.
Im I misunderstanding something. Please explain.

I have an mc an it's the same. 2g mc models are not accurate. Even when not jailbroken I notice the batt going up and down using magic battery. It's normall.

its not about accuracy, the percentage changes due to certain conditions, eg if its at 20% and you put the brightness all the way down, it may jump to 25-30%

same with wifi, bluetooth, push notifications etc etc
