Is the only way to access files of the Ipod through the SSH and stuff? If so do you have to know the information to the router you are connecting through because my dad set it up and I dont know any of the info.

if your wireless network is protected (wep/wpa) then you will require the wep key, or passphrase to connect.

if your wireless network (or let alone network in general) is protected via mac filtering, you will need to gain access somehow to the router and add your ipods wireless adapters' mac address to the exclusions list.

as far as i know, ssh is the only way to go. what are you trying to do?

Put my nes and gba roms on my ipod but doing it over wifi seems kinda weird to me. My router doesnt have wep/wpa and definitely not mac filtering protection I do know that. And I keep following the guides for winscp and cuteftp 8 and its not working.

For local access from Itouch I am using telnet-VT100.
For remote access from PC : WinSCP and PUTTY - both are using SSH.

You can also install Apache server and then use your web browser.

You can install telnet from Installer. It is not easy to use. You should have some Unix knowledge in order to use it. Do search on google.
