    Hello
My iPod touch 3G is behaving strangely. the screen constanly shows a diagram of the white USB cable pointing towards the iTunes logo. I can reset it by pressing both the outside buttons but when it resets, it just goes back to this same display. (the "slide to power off" switch works ok, so the touchscreen must be working, it also charges fine from a mains supply).

Whats wrong with it, or more to the point, how do I fix it? Do I need to access iTunes? The problem could be that I'm abroad with almost zero chance of finding an Apple store or access to iTunes. My laptop is at home and I'm here for two weeks.

Is it fixable now, or do I just forget it until I get home? Any help is greatly appreciated, its got my foreign language dictionary on it amongst many other apps. I've tried posting on another forum but received zero response in 5 days , so I thought I'd try on here. Thanks very much in advance.

You are in recovery mode and you will need a computer to get out of it.
