The screen doesn't get scratched that easily, however the metal back of the iPod is a pretty bad scratch magnet if you keep anything in there with it. Its nothing too bad but you can avoid it by buying a case or something

The screen is very hard to scratch. I've seen videos of people taking a nail and sandpaper to it, and the screen holding up to that perfectly.

The back, however, is a different story.

I hear that the screen has a protective coating as standard...the same coating the military uses to protect their helicoptor blades.
That's going to make the screen pretty much scratch-proof, so i don't even bother with a screen protector anymore.

My screen has dozens of small scratches on it. Either from sand or lint in my pocket since thats the only place I ever put it outside the house.

My screen is perfect. The back is fine as long as you keep it in a case

Buy and InvisibleShield or a case.
Microfibre cloths won't scratch your iPod.

no the onoliaphobic screen on the iPhone is the blade coating. ZAGG sucks. You're just dumping the same thing on the screen again. Apple already has a good protective coating
