Okay, spilled about half a cup of water on my second gen ipod touch. It was fine at first I wiped it off and and swiped my hand across the screen and everything was fine. Placed it down for a second, when I returned it was ont he lock screen I turned it off and it continued to reboot sometimes freezing ont he boot screen sometimes getting to the lock screen. I continued to turn it off in fear of a shortage. Left it off a little over 24 hours and plugged it in. Computer recognized it as an iPod, itunes recognized it as an ipod but not as my ipod.

So it turns on and I if I push the home button twice it'll display the play functions but won't respond to screen touching. I can also press the sleep and home button to do the screenshot thing.

    So any help or ideas?

I guess your touch screen got messed up.
And since it's water damage, Apple won't replace it.

You'd have to go to some other place to get it fixed.

Yea, if you pay. It won't be covered by your warranty though. My friend sent his in and he got it fixed but he had to pay.

Oh, yeah, they repair it if you pay, but you can most likely get it fixed cheaper at another place.

It cost $170 dollars for them to fix it and ship you a new iPod.

    Hmmm.

I would either suggest finding another place to fix it, or buy a new one. I had a friend that broke the home button, it was hard to press, so he sold it for 100 bucks plus accessories and got a new one.
