The ipod touch does not support VPN. You cannot connect to your campus wifi. Well not until apple releases a vpn update. Funny, because the iphone has vpn.

um... well my ipod touch has this:

    Settings > General > Network > VPN >

    In here we have:
    Turn VPN on/off
And Settings... where you can configure your VPN...

how is this different than the iphone?

Well, did you jailbreak your iPod? Because mine definetly doesn't have "Network" under "General" in settings...

My Ipod Touch 16gb does have the network settings under general...

I have had it jail breaked, etc etc.. just like all of us here...

I'm up here in Canada if that has something to do with it, but my general menu is this:

    About
    Wallpaper
    Date & Time
    International
    Auto-Lock
    Passcode Lock
    Network
    Sound Effects
    Keyboard
    Reset

    And in Network:
    I have two items
    VPN
    Wi-Fi

    And withing VPN
I have a switch to turn VPN on and OFF
    and a settings option

    Within Settings:
I can choose from L2TP and PPTP

IT asks for Server and Account
A switch on/off for RSA SecurID
    Password
    Secret
And a switch on/off for Send All Traffic

Under all of that is a Proxy menu, where I can choose Off, Manual or Auto...

Anyone wanna back me up on this...?
I could screen shot it if you really want me to..

Would the fact that I have this menu have to do with that I installed the Iphone apps? (Maps, Mail, Stocks, Weather etc)

I ask this because in my settings menu, under photos, I have a 'Mail' option.. so installing the apps did change my settings in that way... perhaps it added the networking menu as well?

Yes, that's most likely it. I haven't add the iPhone apps on mine yet.

Yeah, the jailbreak added new stuff on to yours. By default though, there is no VPN. I dunno about the jail breaking - I dont want to void my warranty. I heard lots of horror stories about the jail breaking killing peoples ipods
