Well, aren't iPhones the most expensive phone on the market?
On contract they are the same as any other top-of-the-line smartphone. I'm sure the off contract price is around the same as well.
So all this is saying is that iPhones are way overpriced? Am I right or am I right?
No. The iPhone 4 cost 188$ to make and it sold for 200$ on contract.
No, it tells you, that even though only 3% are iPhones, they still bring in 40% of the total money, the Mobile Phones sector earns.
Yeah well, and how could that happen? Either Apple gets their hardware parts way cheaper than the others or they pay less to the manufacturer that builds the device or they have a higher margin per device due to the Apple premium tax. The last one seems to be most likely and that is exactly what overpriced means.
