    2.0.1. It's newer. And more stable. Just a not, you will have to do a full restore before you pwn your iPod so back up your data.

    Simply use 2.0.1. It is faster, more stable, and is a great improvement over 2.0. Don't ask for any 2.0+ firmware on this forum for the iPod touch, as you have to buy it through iTunes. Simply put your iPod in DFU, plug it into iTunes, and restore to your custom firmware (Shift+Click+Restore [Windows] or Option+Click+Restore [Mac]).

    Congrats!

    why do I have to restore before I pwn my ipod?

    if I click restore will it go back to like the 1.1.4 versions?

    or just back to 2.0?

    @spoonforknife

    I have 2.0.1 on my ipod currently

    do I have to downgrade to 2.0 and then install the custom firmware?

    You have to restore to a custom firmware. You can do this on a stock 2.0.1.

    No downgrading needed, just create a custom firmware off of winpwn or Pwnage Tool, restore to it via iTunes - and you're set!
