i was looking through the chronic dev team comments when i came across this posted about an hour ago:

ok when you connect your ipod 2g to the usb port it sends an encrypted code to let ipod 2g connect to apple itunes and also if you want to recover your ipod 2g. Why can't Cronic team or iphone dev team try and intercept the encrypted code at the right time then they can bypass the bootrom as they will have the key. You can use brute force crackers or just trace the code. I use to be a software analyst and my job was to find bugs in the code and doing manual testing. Maybe I'm wrong about what I said but I am learning about this as well.

she seems to know her stuff what do u think is it possible?

This means nothing to me... And if it was a solution, I'm sure either Chronic or DevTeam would've thought of it by now.

guys dont flame this guy, hes just posting what someone else posted.

Yes its a completly stupid idea. If you somehow passed the bootrom then it wouldnt know to load the LBB, then the iBoot and then the kernel and userlevel.

Therefore, you wouldnt be able to get into DFU mode as it is liked with the bootrom. This also means that this would not be possible to implicate as you would need to get to DFU in order to perform this "idea"
