I've been using the textedit app for some casual writing whenever I want to, but its complete lack of features has definitely made it less usable than it should be. Does anyone know if there are any other apps like that out there, but with some very basic features like:

    -iPod Touch's autocorrect function implemented.
-landscape mode (obviously makes typing much easier).
    -wordcount.
    -find/replace

I'm thinking spellcheck could also be something implemented, although that might take more work than the basic functions listed here. Or if anyone knows if any such text editors are in the works, that would be great.

i don't think anything like this exists as of yet.
i wish google docs or zoho would become compatible. that would go a long way. but at this point, neither allows editing.

All I want is a text editor with landscape mode capabilities.

Is that too much to ask for?

If anyone can help me, I would trully appreciate it

yea i really want this to but as i say
do with what you have available

    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55259

great application that lets you manipulate notes.app
(notes.app has auto-correct, yet no landscape keyboard yet)
    and edit your notes
so what i have been doing is taking notes or writing essays in class with my touch in my notes.app
and when i get home (or even at school if you can get wifi) you can extract the data you just wrote, copy/paste to word document and print
    very useful
