So I'm running 2.2.1 2nd generation 32GB, originally jailbroke last March using....Cyw00d (it's what's in my iPod folder under Jailbreak)? Now just recently my Cydia and other things haven't been working like they were (tons of errors and other bits and bobs not updating properly) and I want to re-jailbreak.

What's the easiest way to do this?

I've been reading around a bit, but haven't gotten a clear answer. I'd like to upgrade to the 3.0 firmware or whatever the newest thing is so I can finally use some apps I've been wanting to if that's at all possible.

    Thanks in advance.

Restore in iTunes and upgrade to 3.1.3, jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.4.

So before I restore, I should backup all the apps I paid for, correct (right click on device and then backup or whatever)?

I know we can't talk about it in depth here, but what about those....you know, illegally acquired apps...do they just get erased? I don't have many, but I don't know how to delete them on the actual iPod (if it's something from Cydia, I won't be able to download it).

Yeah just backup and restore, and I guess you could restore from backup, although I don't recommend it. The apps you paid for will still stay in iTunes regardless of a backup/restore.

And sorry I won't risk talking about anything related to piracy.

Post deleted. Also closing thread due to the piracy angle.
