    A little help with Photoshop?

You see how the icon not only has the lighting at the top, but alsoo has that shading around the border? i was wondering how to do that, it looks really cool.

    uhh if i understand you

it's just a bevel for the lighting at the top, and a stroke for the darker outline

'course there are several ways to accomplish both of those things, inner shadow/outer glow/etc

There's a lot of ways to do this. You can use gradients, bevels, drop shadows, inner shadows, etc.
