    Hi everyone..

Like everyone else, I am extremely excited about the iOS4.0 release tomorrow. You could simply upgrade straight to 4.0, but if you are jailbroken, I feel there is a lot to do.

    1) Take screen shots of all of your home screen pages like so:

This will easily help you remember what applications you had installed. Including jailbroken ones.

    2) Take screen shots of your Cydia Installed apps:
This will help you to remember the apps you downloaded from Cydia.

    3) Take screen shots of your sources list from Cydia:
This will help you to remember where you got all your apps from, including the Source URLs.

    4) Don't Rush into things. Many of the apps from Cydia will not support iOS4.0 straight away. Give it some time and things will unfold really well.

    5) Redsn0w beta 0.95 does not support iOS4.0 final as yet. It only supports 4.0GM on iPhone3G and ipt2G (non-MC version). Don't use the beta yet if you use yellowsn0w/ultrasn0w/blacksn0w!
    A few words from me:
Don't upgrade within the first week that iOS4.0 is out. WAIT. When the iPhoneDev Team has officially released a working version of redsn0w for the respective models then you may jailbreak. I'm guessing that the jailbreak will be like redsn0w where you modify the firmware and then restore. If not, it sill be like spirit where you upgrade via iTunes then use a small app to JB your device.

    6) What time does iOS 4.0 go live?
I am guessing late on Monday Pacific Time (Due to some problems they may have). This will basically be Tuesday for me because I'm in South Africa (GMT +2)

    7) What you are getting.

Thanks to Red. for that piece of information.
If there is anything else you would like to know, please feel free to PM me or post your question here.

COULD AN ADMIN PLEASE STICKY THIS =)

Or you could backup your ipod, transfer purchases, and just remember what you installed via Cydia.

You need to take out screenshots 2, 5 and 6 otherwise you will get a ban or infraction.

Jailbreaking isn't illegal, some of the applications/installations you have in your screenshots are.

Pkg Backup should work for the upgrade, so then you don't have to remember what Cydia apps you have.

Right click you iPhone in the corner of iTunes on the sidebar, then make a Backup.
