A Few Questions

    1.When im on a plane, should i put my ipod in airplane mode or completely turn it off?
    2. Is that ^ necessary?
    3. Is there any way to charge the ipod touch while it is turned off?

    1. Yes, you should place it into airplane mode - there is no need to turn it off.
    2. Yes, the signals could interfere with the plane - although I dont think this is a high risk (better be safe, than sorry).
    3. When its turned off, and you plug in a charger cable / usb cable - it should turn on and bring up the battery screen anyway.

    I class the iPod touch in with the 'laptop and other handheld devices'. They say you're allowed to use them when the fasten seatbelt sign is switched off. I've done it countless times on planes and i've never once been asked to turn it off

    Edit: Also the plane has never crashed as a consequence of me using it
