I have a few random questions ( May Have more soon) about a iPod Touch (I am getting the 32GB 3G)

    1. How do you unjailbreak when you used spirit. I heard you restore a backup from iTunes and the jailbreak goes.

    2. If you do unjailbreak from iTunes. I heard. If you backup your iPod while it is jailbroke. Then restore that backup straight away. The jailbreak is gone since the backup does not backup the jailbreak. Is this ture?

    3. How long is the average battery life for it. I mean out of everyone here's experience

    4. What are the best recommended apps from the App Store and Cydia. Only free one's please

    5. If I jailbreak using Spirit. Do I need to change the root password or something. Is that only iPhones or what. I heard someone can hack it if you don't change your root/SSH password or something like that

    6. Using SSH, Could I add pictures to it and music and they actually appear. Since I tried one of those file browsers with my friends. But it worked via the USB cable. And the files I transferred did not appear.

    Thanks for now

    1) yes
    2) you need to rejailbreak if you restore
    3) my battery life sucks
    4) take a look at the top 25
    5) yeah you can be hacked if you don't change it, change it in mobileterminal (get it from cydia) and type:

    su root
    alpine
    passwd

    then type your new password

    6) nope it won't show up

    1. Restore through iTunes. Don't restore from backup if you want some of the jailbreak things.
    2. It backups some things. Like custom carrier etc.
    3. With a jailbreak, or with out? It really depends on what you're doing.
    4. There are tons of threads on here dedicated to that, not gonna post them here right now, you could search for that. Check the top apps.
    5. Not a requirement, but it can cause issues, recommended.
    6. SSH will work like you said.

(Please try and speak less confusingly, bad grammar)

You don't restore from a backup, you system restore. My most recommended cydia and rock apps are
sbsettings (slide across status bar and have toggles and many tools)
    winterboard (themes)
    backgrounder and proswitcher (multitasking)
five-column springboard, fiveirows GUI (5 columns and rows on springboard)
infiniboard and infinidock (paid but worth it) (scroll vertically in springboard (infinity icons on springboard) and infinity icons on the dock)
OpenSsh (file transfer and change the password in mobileterminal)
iPodPop (music popup comes up even when music isn't playing)
iTransform to iPod (makes music and videos one app and toggle it with winterboard)
Insomnia and Insomnia toggle (wifi runs in background, perfect for sshing)
    That's it

If I do a system restore though. Don't I lose all my apps, music, videos etc... I thought the backup could erase the jailbreak and keep my files on there...

And as for the apps. I will likely stick to the free ones (So not Infinidock) but thanks for the others

No backup just backs up email, settings, wifi passwards and some other stuff.

All of the apps and music is on your computer and is a sync away.

So really when I want to unjailbreak. I factory restore in iTunes (Is there a button for that or a guide anywhere) and then sync my music, apps, pics and videos back.

When you restore, you just click restore in itunes, no need for a guide

Another question sorry. Will the settings get erased on the restore. Say I use activator and change buttons so like Voice Control is activated by the volume buttons. Will this all reset when I restore? Or do I need to manually go through and reset everything before?

Need to know how can we get the Trash Can in the ipod Touch so that I can erase the photos directly in the ipod touch without using iTune.I have a 3G Ipod touch(32GB).
