If I get one I'll be getting the $300 dollar one that is a 16gb. It says it holds 3500 songs and 20 hours of video. That's in combination right? It means 3500 songs or 20 hours of video not 3500 songs and 20 hours of video.

When I download applications off of itunes, if my brother wants the same apps on his ipod touch does he need to buy them too, or can he just download them onto his from my itunes?

Going back to the stuff it can hold, how many apps can it hold at one time because I know each app has its own icon in the home area, so how many can it hold at once? And approx how much space does each app take from the amount of songs and such that it can hold?

Lastly, is there anything I should know before I purchase one?

That's very wise of you to ask.
If you purchase the Apps from your account, and your brother uses the same account you purchased from, he can download the app for free since it's already paid for..

About the size, everything differs for example asphalt 4 = around 90mb. TTR = 8mb
    It ranges from roughly 1mb~100mb
iPods/iPhones can hold up to 9 pages max or exceed the default app space limit of 500mb but I think there is a workaround.

Edit: Oh and no. They aren't a combination you either get 20 hours of video or 3500 songs

You could only do that as long as your computer is authorized to play his media.
Done by clicking store > authorize computer , then fill in the details.

I was actually going to ask about a movie converter because I have a dvd I want on my ipod when I get one, but I can't find a free converter and I don't have a mac. .-.

i dont know if they understand

you cannot use your friends apps if you have your own itunes account

what you can do is authorize it to play their media (using their password)
but then you couldn't use your own stuff you have for your account.
it's either one or the other (assuming they let you have their un and pw)
