    Hey guys,

My dad is going to get an iPhone 3GS, and he's going to give me his 3G.
I have a phone (Sony Ericsson) with an O2 PayG sim card in. As the iPhone 3G uses a contract sim card on O2, could I use my PayG sim card from my Sony Ericsson, or would I have to unlock it?

Also what is activation, is it done by apple or the network (O2 in my case)?

(I'm in the uk if that helps)

    Thanks
