Hi, I have an iPod Touch 2g MC MODEL 8GB.
I had 3.1.3 jailbroken [using spirit], but then i updated my firmware to 4.0, since i thought that the jailbreak for it had been released..
but since i had MC MODEL, it wouldnt work with my iPOD.
curently im running 4.0 which is NOT JAILBROKEN and i have some questions...
    • is there an way to go back to my previous firmware witout having the SHSH blobs?
    • should i try to go back to my previous firmware or wait for 4.0 MC MODEL jailbreak?
    • is there any website that can tell/update me when 4.0 MC model jailbreak is released?
    thanks

My advice: Just wait for the new jailbreak to be released, it will save you a ton of hassle and it should be released fairly soon. Any news will be reported in this thread or you could check comex's twitter

Since it's an 8gig MC model use itunes 9.0 or lower along with the second ged FW for 3.1.3 or 3.1.2. Place the ipod in DFU and Shift click restore in iTunes to the FW.

Yes. The 8GB is the same as the 2G, so it uses the 2G firmware, which doesn't need to be signed.

Make sure to backup your 4.0 blobs because apple put a "soft shsh check" in the firmwares 4.0 and above. (Applies to ALL devices)

Soft is for 2G only, I might add.
