Hi guys, i hope this is the right section, i havent been on this forum for months, but the last time i used it, i jailbroke my 1.1.2 firmware since then i have lost my wifi connection and didny really use my ipod

The question i wanted to ask is should i upgrade my ipod the any newer firmware? i want to install some emulators and roms, and from some readign i figure i will be using a software like totalcommander (as i have no wifi) is it possible to jailbreak any new firmware without a wifi connection or would i have to stick with my current jailbreak version (1.1.2), regards

Yes, you should upgrade to 2.2.
As long as you have Internet, which you obviously do, you can jailbreak, although it may not live up to its full potential without Wi-Fi.

okay.. so i'm very stupid when it comes to this stuff.
    and i'm REALLY struggling..
soo.. i just got and ipod touch.
first of all i got a whole bunch of apps and they wont sync to my ipod..
its in my library under applications, but they wont go on to my ipod.
secondly i have NO IDEA how wi-fi works.
lastly, and this is probably the dumbest question of all.
but all of my old songs copied onto my ipod...
    can i erase some?
    if i can..how?

    1. What firmware are you on? What error is given?
    2. Wi-Fi is basically Internet without wires... To connect, go into Settings-Wi-Fi on your iPod.
    3. Yes. Go onto iTunes and uncheck those songs. Plug in your iPod, and check "Sync only checked songs"

They will last as long as you have rented them for.
Go into the Videos tab of your iPod page in iTunes, and check "Sync movies"

"Firmware is a term sometimes used to denote the fixed, usually rather small, programs that internally control various electronic devices."- Wikipedia

Wi-Fi: If you don't have your own Wi-Fi connection, don't connect to any of them.

    Just resync.
