I was wondering, aren't the limera1n and GP bootrom exploits kinda useless? I mean if they have to use a userland exploit to boot it up, wouldnt it be easier to just use the userland exploit to jailbreak instead of the bootrom? Please dont flame me, i dont really understand this stuff fully

The userland exploit is used to make the jailbreak untethered. The bootrom exploit is a tethered jailbreak, so without the userland jailbreak, you could still jailbreak your device, it would just have to be plugged into your PC or Mac if you reboot the device.

The bootrom exploit gives it the jailbreak, it will always be there, just tethered, unless they find an iboot exploit I think.

The userland exploit makes it untethered, but can be patched by the next OS update.

Yeah i understand that (sorta) but if they are going to use a userland exploit anyway, why bother with the bootrom
