Ok, so currently I have the "Categories" app from Cydia installed. I have about 70 apps, so I thought my dashboard (springboard, whatever you want to call it) needed some cleaning up.

I recently came upon a video about having 5 columns/rows and also a 5-unit dock. Should I keep my settings or go for the alternative?

PROS (in terms of switching to 5-C/R/D):
-I would agree that it looks a bit cooler
-Now I could actually SEARCH for my apps; when you go to your iPod's native search tab, you can't find any apps that are in folders
-No more waiting for folders to load

CONS (in terms of switching to 5-C/R/D):
-I would then have to constantly be switching tabs to get to the app I want to open
-All apps would be clearly visible by anyone using my iPod (whether it be because of embarassing apps [ex. any kind of "hot or not" or "meet people" apps] or just apps you would rarely use [ex. Stocks])
-Sorting apps is a pain: when you delete one from, say, the middle of your collection apps, there is no frameshift... a.k.a. the apps that came after it don't move back one space

Why Cant you do all of them? That's what I do, stylish and organized.

I don't see the point in doing that, since if I have categories, I can basically fit all my folders and apps onto 1-2 tabs. Plus it's better to have bigger icons anyways. Easy on the eyes, and it makes the springboard look more impressive.

    Thanks for the idea though.

I just don't use Categories because of it's slowness. I really don't want to wait to be able to open apps.

Here's what I do, Put the apps that you use the most on the springboard, and then the ones that you don't use so much in the category.

Yea, I already do that, but I'm wondering if I should just get rid of categories completely.

You know what, I probably should. Alpha911 is right, it's annoying to have to wait 2-3 seconds for the folders to open up. Not to mention the fact that non-Cydia app (default and App Store app) icons aren't rounded when they are in folders, nor do they have that familiar reflection/glare in the top of the icon. Did anyone else realize that?

Obviously the second point for not using categories.
