I was curious, does the jailbreak mess with the awesome speed of the 4G?
I really want to jailbreak. My 2G was jailbroken most of time I owned it, and i really love jailbroken devices.

But I am not sure if it is worth it for the 4G, like speed wise.

The jailbreak itself doesnt change the speed of your iPod
    Its the stuff you install

Winterboard doesn't Affect speed. Just drains the battery, a bit. About 30 mb of ram

In my knowledge it would have done on the 2G because of the lack of ram. I think the 2G had 50MB and the 4G has 256MB (Im not sure)

The 2G had 128MB, the 4G has twice that so winterboard may cause slowdown if running in conjunction with other programs in multitaksing. Other than that I doubt it will make a difference.

you could do what i do and manually put the themes in it takes about 15 min and u have to know way around the ipods guts but it is very easy and permanent so back-up everythign u change. not have the mobilesubstrate installed makes a big diference in performance on the ipod.
