Yay! I noticed that the teardown said the front glass and LCD were fused together, preventing dust and debris from getting inside the iPod. I've had sooo many issues with random junk getting caught underneath the screen. Maybe this will finally fix it.

It's going to suck when the glass cracks and it's out of warranty. You have to buy the front panel and lcd.

People have reported 256MB (according to App Store app readings).

I thought iMovie needed more RAM than that to export and edit videos though?

Ohhh yeah. When I talked to someone on the Apple Store chat yesterday, they asked me if I bought AppleCare. I didn't. Is that covered in the AppleCare warranty? Hmm...

One of my iPod's is still in warranty, but Apple won't cover broken glass at all.

That's what I thought too, however it could be an error/incompatibility of the Appstore apps themselves - although it's not looking too good.

You can get accidental insurance with Safeware for 3 years for around $70. They will cover broken glass, explosions, water, etc. Just make sure you select Tablet and Individual in the quote menus.
