So, i downloaded and jailbroke with 4.0 on my 8gb 2g touch, and it sucks! My battery dies in like 5 minutes doing nothing. I jailbroke with the newest redsn0w and unchecked multi tasking, but its still horrible! anybody else have issues? I want to downgrade to 3.1.3.

i dont see how there is a correlation between battery life and the 4.0 firmware. there could be another issue not because of 4.0. as for me, 4.0 works perfectly except with winterboard.

One of the main reasons the battery dies so fast is because Wifi stays connected even in sleep mode. You must never have Wifi enabled; therefore, you do not have the problem.

It's pretty obvious that if you leave your wifi on, it'll kill your battery. It's not that hard to turn it off when you're not using it.

I feel your pain. I'm ready to just chunk this thing out the window.

Try turning off your wifi when not in use. Huge difference for me.

I wonder if there is a .plist file that you can mod to make the wifi turn off while in sleep mode.....

correct, but having the wifi enabled wouldn't drain out the battery that quickly. turn off wifi if you are leaving your house otherwise you may leave it on.
