Hey guys, I have an ipod 3g 32gb at firmware 4.0 right now and it's a real pain to sync ~28 gbs of data everytime I upgrade... Would it be possible to just upgrade from 4.0 jailbroken to 4.1 unjailbroken and jailbreak with limerain from there?

I know my jailbroken apps will be erased, by would my appstore apps/music still be retained without having to resync?

No. You'll still have jailbreak data.

    Oh really? Even better.

But what about the appstore apps?

EDIT: For future reference: it does work. Simply upgrade to the legit 4. firmware and jailbreak it. Appstore apps are saved, but cydia apps are deleted.

EDIT2: Actually, it seems like cydia apps are still there. The apps themselves are deleted, but when you reinstall them, all the settings are the same.
