Does any1 know with 100% certainty that the 3GS replacements for faulty 3GS' are new or refurbs? The Apple genius swapped mine out and put my old one in a white (refurb?) box. I'm wondering because I think he got my replacement phone from the white box and that it might be a refub. Refurbs generally have tons of problems.

Solution: Don't break your first one.

    Or

Solution: If it has a ton of problems, its a refurb

    Or

Solution: If it doesn't have a lot of problems, who cares?

refurbs aren't always bad - sometimes people just don't get how to activate the phone that's why they refurb or similar stupid stuff let them refurb. If there's a serious problem causing to refurb then the genius bar wouldn't exchange yours with the faulty ones.

Actually, refurbished products don't have a lot of problems.

If they are, they undergo testing to see what's wrong.
That gives you a much smaller chance of getting a defective phone.

Id guess more then likely it will be brand new because they probably dont have so many refurbs since it just got released

Yep, I agree with dette. Most likely it'll be new since most people don't even have them

Someone else reminded me that Apple keeps replacement phones on hand at the Apple store so they might be refurbed.. I do not know... But common sense says most likely they wouldnt be but you never know with Apple
