As a registered developer, i have access to the 4.0 beta (SO DON'T DISCIPLINE THIS POST!!) and have made an interesting discovery.

In the 1st and 2nd 4.0 betas i could not join a network that was wireless G+N, only a network that was G. In most cases, if a router is running in G+N mode, a device that is G only can still connect, but the 4.0 iphone couldn't.

In the 3rd beta this glitch was resolved, i can not connect to the network, however i have also noticed that i can discover networks that are wireless N only, not G. I still cannot connect to a N specific network, but i can discover it, something that is not possible in 3.2; and as the 3GS has the hardware support for N, i would not be surprised if apple adds this feature fully supported in 4.0.

    Here's Hoping

N running on 2.4GHz would be able to be detected by a G radio (2.4GHz)

Tx Rx would not work however

tell me if i'm wrong, but I am pretty sure that I couldn't detect N networks with 3.13 installed

No i'm sorry the 3Gs doesn't have a wireless chip that supports 802.11n Wireless. Only the 32/64GB #rd generation iPod touch and the iPad have that capability so far.

My 1st Gen iPod Touch see 802.11n networks, I just can't connect to them. But when my router is in N only mode I still see it, I just never get bars...
So eather this is nothing big or there is a problem with my router when it says it is in N only mode...
