What are the main differences between the 2? Also, can it be unlocked, or can you only do that on the 3G?

As itouch93 said, just look on Apple's site.

Here are the biggest features I've noticed in the 3GS:

    -Better Camera / Video
    -Digital Compass
    -Faster / More powerful hardware
    -More RAM

Also, it can be unlocked, but Push will not work on an unlocked phone.

one thing i have noticed is that a jailbroken iphone 3G is very very laggy, very very slow and very annoying. i jailbroke my iphone 3GS (for a day mind you then i restored lol) and it was fast as hell, not a single issue.

games run ridiculously smooth on the 3GS and the 3GS jailbroken can play game boy games at 120fps and psx games at around 30fps (which is normal speed for a psx game)

the iphone 3G manages barely half of that.

heres a demonstration of this difference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udxs2q3R3P4
