Okay so my dad has an 3G iPhone, that previously had jailbreak on firmware 2.2.1.

He tried updating it to 3.0 like I did, just by plugging it in and updating, thats it.

Now, I have no idea what he did in between, but he just got a loading bar that said "restoring iphone".

And after its done it gives an error saying that it cannot be restored,

    Now,

It said I think Error 14.

Everytime I try to restart the ipod it takes me to a screen that has a plug thing and has the itunes symbol on it.

    Im assuming thats DFU mode.

PLEASE somebody tell me what to do, or give me a hint to get it out.

I tried the whole ten seconds 5 seconds, etc.

When I plugged it in it says on iTunes it has detected a iphone in recovery mode, you must recover to be able to use it for itunes.

And when he tries to recover it gives an error.

Update to the latest iTunes, or uninstall, and install the latest version... or use a different computer.

He did mention something about having to update to the new itunes software.

But he said that it wouldnt let him do the 3.0 update without upgrading first.

So I dont see how that would be a problem.

I could try using the other computer but that doesn't have his backup, so ill try the uninstall and reinstall.
