My friend was just given a 16GB 3GS and currently has a 8GB 3G. The screen is cracked on th 3gs (the glass).
On the 3G. I know when you take apart, the glass/digitizer/LCD come off as one piece. So, could we take the assembly off the 3G and put on the 3GS?
If not, are ANY of these parts compatible between models?

The 3G screen wont fit in the 3GS I'm pretty sure....
I think the LCD is a little different, but the glass would probably fit on the 3gs, but thats a delicate job.

When you say screen, do you mean the LCD?

The whole assembly is identical. I had a similar question earlier about the LCD's. I'll try to find it and post it back here.

Hey, thanks! i have seen some who say the assembly is identical and other say it's not.. so any clarification would be great thanks!

The main thing we are swapping is the glass. But EVERYTHING I have seen says the glass is too hard to remove from the digitizer, so we are going to swap the glass/digitizer assembly, so that is my main focus. The LCD is fine in both units so that isn't a prob either way.
    Thanks!
