    Hey
I got my 3G S about 12 hours ago, and as soon as i got it home i opened the box up to start setting it but. But i did notice a rattling sound when it put it down on the table, or tapped the apple logo at the back with my fingure. Is anyone else having this?

mine does make a slight rattle noise when shaken but it's not so much that I'd think something was broken.

Na its not, my 3G doesnt make the sound. I called the place i got it from and they said they will replace it when more stock comes in. I was thinking, maybe its the magnetometer?

Check the vibrate/ring toggle on the side. Mine seems a tad loose and makes a barely noticeable rattle at times.

Oh ok, mine is very audible lol, and it happens whenever i put it on a table, or the phone vibrates. I went to the place i got it, and the guy said they are getting more in on tuesday, and they will replace it then.

try holding all of the external buttons (esecially the loud/silent button) shake it and see if you can hear the noise

on mine you can hear the loud/silent button shake quite a lot

I tried that, it dampers the sound, but it doesn't eliminate it.

I was hoping build quality would be better then 3g but from what im reading around, its the same.

I mean all, iphones are one of the toughest and probably the most solid devices on the market, but EVERY DAMN 3g i inspected has some kind of fault. Loose silent swith, light leak (this is on 80% of 3g devices),rough corners,f***ed volume rockers,half-responsive home button, dead pixels...

its like for sure youll get at least one of them when you buy new 3g/3gs. SAD.
