hey ive been wondering if it would be worth it to buy a 3g or if i should justbuy the old iPhone. I am currently under contract with t-mobile for 2 years so i cant get an at&t plan. I have no clue how to get the 3g iphone for a reasonable price without a contract so i was wondering if it would be that much of a downgrade if i just bought the 1st generation iphone? it would cost less and be a lot easier to get my hands on. please tell me what you think.

Get an old iphone! I'm not all that impressed with my 3G and I actually live somewhere that has decent coverage.

    You can't unlock a 3G iPhone.

The one thing that I don't like about the 1st gen is the recessed headphone jack. If it wasn't for that, I would probably sell my iPod to get an unlocked one (I have no need for a cellphone plan, I just like the form factor better).

    if I could afford 70 bucks a month I would rather have a 3G.
