My brother was watching Attack of the show on G4TechTV, and I was making some food, I overheard them talking about the new firmware, and the things they were saying apple was boasting about, things like apps not crashing (Which I doubt, comon we were on firmware 2.0.2 and apps crash more than 1.1.1)

So I was kind of just murdering yea right, oh yea, etc... I then heard something about the battery life, and every update the battery life is supposed to be better then the last version, but I heard 35 HOURS BATTERY LIFE for the touch, and like 18 for the iPhone.

Anyone notice the battery life is a hell of alot better?

The iPod touch 2g has a 36 hour battery for music. I think the 1g was 24 hours.

doubt it will get 36hrs, cant see how it can its near as makes no difference the same size as the 1g touch, and if its down to firmware then the 1g touch should get the same amount of battery life

I kinda find that weird is that 36 without using it or what just like 1st gen never truly lasted more than 3-6 hours so I sadly doubt it

It won't make the first gen's battery last significantly longer. Remember, the new design brought a newer battery, duh!

If you're playing music and leaving the screen on the entire time, then yeah, 3-6 hours sounds right, especially if you leave wifi on, and have any jailbreak apps running in background.

I shut off wifi while Im at work, and in the 10.5 hours that I'm there, my battery gets down to about 35 - 40%.

So apparently you're ipod is broken, or you're doing something wrong.
