Paid for newest update, plugged in my iPod Touch and all went to hell:
iTunes says my iPod needs to be restored and asked if that was OK. I clicked OK and that was the end of my iPod.

Windows keeps trying to install drivers for it and can't find them (neither can I). I have tried everything Apple recommends and it's still stuck in Recovery Mode but iTunes reports unknown error when it tries to restore it. There are NO little yellow triangles in Device Manager.

    Anyone else have this problem?
Is there and Apple Phone Hotline?
    HELP!!!

Try DFU mode, if that doesn't work - 1-800-MYAPPLE

    Happened to me too.

They fixed it in store on Sunday and tried updating it again and it would just come up with an error, restoring and going to try again..
