You should not have tried to get 3.1b's illegally.

Wait until the official one is out. Then restore to that. You'll just have to wait.
    Do not pirate betas

Hi its your day of chance!! Only one solution! Use quickfreedom! Apply the redsnow patch with quickfreedom and restaure with the 2.2.1 firmware of quickfreedom! After restaure on 3.0

    Good luck

    This Should Fix it

i had the same problem when i installed the 3.0 beta 5 but there are 2 solutions to your problem

    1. Just unplug your computer from the internet when you sync with itunes

    2. Restore the iPod

    To restore the ipod

    1. First off you will need to hunt down your original iPod software file (Not some pirated file)

On a PC it will be under C:\Users\"USERNAME"\AppData\roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

find the one that is titled "iPod2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore"

    2. copy it somewhere it will be easily found

    3. on your ipod touch (unplugged from the computer) hold the power button until you see the red slider and power offf the iPod

    4. once off do not plug in or press power button! simply hold the home button keep holding it as you see the apple logo and once you see a black screen you are there this is called DFU mode

    5.now plug in your iPod

    6. itunes will tell you that there is a iPod in recovery mode and you must restore it. hold shift and click restore

    7. select the file that you copied to the desktop and click open

    8. the iPod will begin restoring

    9. if the computer gives you an error code like 1604 try plugging the ipod into a USB port in the back of your computer and bake sure it is not connected using a hub and than repeat steps 3-8

    Hope This Helps

On your iPod hold the home and power buttons until the screen goes off, then hold the home button for 10 seconds. Plug your iPod into iTunes and click restore.

Since they have paid for 3.0 its fine for them to try 3.1

You can't use betas unless you pay Apple $50 to develop on your own property.
