I recently took a risk and downgraded my iPhone 3G running iOS 4.1 to 3.1.3 to hopefully make it a lot faster. It worked better than expected and the performance is brilliant even when Jailbroken by Redsn0w 0.9.4. My question is, how do I get Homescreen wallpapers?

You cane use winterboard. Also since your on 3.1.3 you should check whited00r out.

    http://www.whited00r.com/features.php

Its 3.1.3 modifed to look and feel like iOS 4 without slowing it down. It has native camera functions aswell.
Theres pictures aswell you should check it out!

So I send them a 3.1.3 Firmware and they make it look like iOS 4?

Not exactly but I think they send them to some people, but normally you download their modified pwnagetool and then it creates a custom 3.1.3 with the features.

    They install iOS 4 alternatives.

Like backgrounder instead of apples multitasking.

SMS background instead of apples slow wallpapers.

    Stuff like that.

Yea, Use Simple Background for wallpapers. It has the whole zoom and such. Then there is something called Underlays for iOS3 that gives you all of apples underlays

    EDIT

And yea, I'm about to do the same thing. I want speed.

I'm considering doing this aswell, but there is still some stuff that keep me away is:

    -Folders
-Having apps up to date with iOS 4.

Not sure if I should do it or not. What do you guys think?

I'm afraid to get the "This app is only supported by iOS 4" message.

Half way done restoring to 3.1.2. 3.1.2 was always more stable for me... But it's your descion. Then if all goes right everything should be back to normal... With a 3.1.2 twist on things
