Can i update to 3.1.2 without getting rid of my jailbreak?
all help is appreciated
Nope, you will lose the jailbreak if you update.
even if i updated with a jailbroken firmware?
Yes. If you update without backing up you jailbreak applications (with tools other than iTunes), you will lose your jailbreak.
Is there a way i can go on the internet on my ipod other than wifi, like through a usb cabel?
Nope, wifi is the only way (I believe).
So how would one go about backing up all the jailbroken stuff?
I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I want to upgrade from a jailbroken 2.2.1 and keep all my stuff if possible.
With AptBackup or PkgBackup in Cydia
Which is better? And will they completely back up everything?
Sorry for all the questions. I haven't upgraded before and I don't have wifi here, making it a pretty big hassle for me to do all that stuff, so I want to get all the details clear first.
And once I use one of those apps to back up, I just upgrade using itunes, then jailbreak using blackrain or whatever that was called?
I use Aptbackup, simply because it's free and it's served me well. The additional features of Pkg don't really appeal to me.
