SO i tryed updating my firmware to 3.1.2 and it failed. Said my ipod was in recovery mode and i had to restore, that failed.

I want to know is there a way to install a firmware withought itunes?
I tryed using a custom firmware and pressed shift+restore, but that failed.

So how do i manually install a firmware with no itunes?
And is there a way i can manually restore? or will that happen when i install the firmwarE?

i dont think you can do it without itunes
if you havent yet try putting your ipod in DFU mode and then try your restore

    haha sorry

there is a small posibility that you are not doing the steps for DFU correctly
are you sure that you have done them right and that your device will not go into DFU?
if not, try holding power and home for 7 seconds, then home for 7 seconds
ignore the sounds your ipod and computer make when you are doing this

Thats not how the ipt3 works. Its in dfu already if it has failure booting. I would have uploaded a video on it if i didnt already restore. Its so people who dont have hacking experience can fix there ipod alone
