I was able to "SHARE" my purchased 3.0 update to, right now, two friends. So that's three of us updated for the price of one!

    HOW?

Call it the "benefits of being in a third-world country"...

The 2nd and 3rd ipods have been synched in my pc before. Meaning, I installed apps and synched using my own pc, using my itunes account. So when i connected them, they got tagged as "my" ipod too. lucky them!

    IMPLICATIONS:
If you are willing to restore your ipod just to get free 3.0, i guess you can. Just synch with someone who has an itunes account.

    CONS:
You cannot update your apps anymore using your own/or another PC/MAC. You would be virtually tied to the pc where you got the upgrade. HOWEVER, i don't think you would lose the 3.0 update if you restore again.

    your thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?

And what you are doing is illegal as it contravenes the iTunes EULA and so cannot be discussed on these forums. See the thread here for more details.
