So I saw that 3.0 OS is coming next wednesday, saw some new neat features, was definitely going to upgrade, but it looks like there going to make iPod Touch users pay money for the update.

    Looking at:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/softwareupdate.html

In the footnotes at the bottom it says:
The iPhone 3.0 Software Update for iPod touch sold separately.

They are making us always pay for more god damn updates. iPhone users get this for free and so should we!

    Yes, just like 2.0
Us iPod touch users don't pay a monthly fee, so we pay for major OS upgrades.

Would you want to spend $10 for an update or ~$70/month?

I would rather pay the $10, but that's just me...

That's not the point, the point is that we are been charged to have basic features like copy and paste that should have been in firmware 1.0.

You bought the thing knowing that there wasn't copy and paste initially in it. If you didn't than your an ignorant consumer. No one is making you buy 3.0.

Just pay for it, or stay on 2.2.1
No one is forcing you to upgrade

Just dont upgrade if its too much. If you think copy and paste is such a basic feature, code it into the 2.x yourself and stay with that. And no, the point is we're being charged because we are getting a new, more advanced version of our firmwares, and the iPhone users already pay plenty. Stop the complaining, people.
