3.0 unlockable?

    might be a stupid question, but when 3.0 comes out, will it be unlockable? i dont see why it wouldnt be.
    im on a 2g t-mobile iphone. ill be VERY sad if i have to stay back on 2.2.1 for me being on tmobile.

    If the dev team finds a way to allow you to upgrade without upgrading the Baseband (Like they always do), then yes. They could also figure out an unlock for the 3.0 Baseband, you never know.

    The iPhone 2G baseband hasn't seen an update in over a year and I'm sure that won't change with 3.0.
    Your unlock is fine, since the S-GOLD2 is forever vulnerable.

    and the NEW iPhone users will have to worry. devteam says it could be locked, possibly permanent.

    Chances are the new iPhone will have an even newer bootrom, that's even harder to crack the the X-Gold...

    It will most likely have a new radio with a completely different bootrom altogether.
    I'm not sure if the X-Gold supports whatever the new standard that is rumored for the new model.
