I have recently been wanting to upgrade to 3.0 firmware from 2.2.1 I have an Ipod touch 2nd gen. My problem is that I am stuck with dial up and my isp cut's any downloads from apple after about 3 mb (not to mention that it would take about 48 hours straight to download the 200mb plus firmware at 2kb per second.). I do however have access to wifi at my high school and could conceivably download it there, but all I have is my ipod. I want to do the right thing and pay the 9.99 for it (seeing as my itunes giftcard won't buy apps since I am in Canada anyway and It is of no use to me). Is there anyway I could download the firmware onto my ipod and ssh it onto my computer? I know this seems like a noob question but maybe there's something I don't know about.

Download it at a school computer, put it on a flash drive, and then use it at home.

Install it, or put iTunes on a flash drive.

Zombie killer, thx for the help but I am in fact stealing there wifi and that little stunt with the flashdrive would land me a suspension and take over two hours to download ( because of the bandwidth cutting the wifi is actually faster then the broadband lol) I am not morally against hacked firmware but that is probably against forum rules

They might actually do that you know, if you explain your problem there's no reason why they wouldn't/shouldn't
