3.0 bricked my touch

    Happening to me too, kind of. I got an error 14, and it really messed up my iPod touch, I couldn't even go to DFU, but it seems to be working now, just keep trying to DFU

    trying shift-restore and selected new firmware that was downloaded today.

    which.. is kinda a dumb question.. cause itunes prompts u to download 8.2 before downloading 3.0 (if ur on an older version of itunes)

    Of course.

    So I did the shift-restore and got no where with the new 3.0. Downgrading to 2.2.1 It looks like it's working. for this version neways. We'll see....

    Will Apple let me redownload 3.0 with no charge automatically if I remove from the directory. I wanna trick it into re downloading it again. Thinking that got corrupted on download maybe.

    Apple *should* let you download it again at no cost.

    no that was a good question because alot people download the firmware to avoid paying and then neglect to update iTunes

    The 3.0 firmware file was corrupted. Apple allowed me to re download after moving the file. Worked like a charm once I had it stable on 2.2.1
