Hi, I rushed out the door to download the 3.0 os as soon as I watched the keynote. Yes, unfortunately i did get it off a ******* ( i will not reveal) and after getting tired of its buginess tried to downgrade back to 2.2.1. However i didnt work and logically the next step i took was to dfu it and hook it up. I have done this many times. Each time, itunes recognizes it, and ask me to restore and update. I do. After preparing it for restore I will always run in error 1604. I have tried everything on apples site and it wont work. Any thoughts. Other thing i have tried include restoring from a download 2.2.1 rather than apples, didnt work. Please help. I am on the latest version of Itunes and I have an 8gb 1st gen ipod touch. Thanks in advance

Take the link down, buddy. You're not necessarily allowed to link to that site.

    Just apply your jailbreak.

I went through quick-freedom for my 2G, and it took off 3.0 easily and with no error.

Then I went to un-jailbreak, but you get the idea, just jailbreak out of it.
