hi, i purchased a new ipod touch and was planning to give my cousin mine since mine was a 16gb and i wanted the 32gb. So I bought the new 32gb at my local walmart and I noticed that even within the box the ipod looked a little scratched up and dirty. So, I returned it and got another and was still the same case with the other. Should I like get my ipod directly at the apple store? would they have brand new ipod touches that won't look like used?

And when i mean dirty, it had dust under the screen and stuff.

I would suggest a more high quality store. BestBuy is where I got mine and it was perfect. The service was great and I got my iPod in perfect condition. Wal-Mart shouldn't be the place you buy an iPod anyways. At last resort if you don't have a local BestBuy, get it from apple.com. They are money hungry and the service isn't great, but you'll probably get a good product. The only setback for apple.com is that they need to ship it which can be rough sometimes. BestBuy would be the obvious option to get a good iPod.

I'm pretty sure Walmart wouldn't open their iPod touch boxes and dirty them up and scratch them up. I think that maybe his Walmart just isn't having very good luck with their shipment of iPod touches.

A lot of walmart's take there returns an rebox them an put them on there shelves as new, which is probably why the one's you got look scratched/used, cause they probably are.

Yes. If they're selling it as a brand new item. They have to sell it as used or they'd be selling people something other than whats listed. I forget what that's called but its a law.
