Hello, i am a new user, and i own a 2nd gen ipod touch. The firmware version is the OS 3.1.3 for which i paid apple. It's not jailbroken or anything.
After reading that the new firmware wont support multitasking for the 2G's i was a bit disappointed, so I wanna ask if u know any ideas of adding this feature. I did some googling and i came across with this. Has anybody tried it? Is there a better way of achieving that? Should I jailbreak my itouch? In general what are the pros and cons of jailbraking? I am out of warranty, so no issues with that.

    Sorry for the newbish Qs.

Only way to multitask on a 2G is to jailbreak, then download backgrounder and one of the many switchers (proswitcher, kirkae, ect)

I mean like, there is no risk, if you mess up, you can always return back by DFU restoring. Jailbreak! You wont regret it

I suggest jailbreaking. It does technically void your warranty, but if you restore your iPod if anything goes wrong, and take it to Apple, they won't be the wiser, and they could still help you.

Despite your warranty being up, you should still jailbreak anyway because of all the features. For multitasking, "backgrounder" is a must.
