I have the standard pre-paid T-Mobile tzones. This gives me access to CNN's mobile site for free. After updating to 3.1, I lost my ability to connect to T-Zones.
    I set my APN to:
    wap.voicestream.com
    no user
    no pass

When I go to safari, rather than going to the T Zones page, I get a cannot open page because it is not connected error.

Can anyone think of a solution?

There are a few different APN's you can try for T-Mobile and I don't know for T-Zones as they no longer off it as an option (customers who have had it still get it).

    Try this for your APN:

    internet2.voicestream.com

It still gives me errors. :/
I know that it is still on my account, because when I put it into my other phones (Treo 650, Samsung T509), it works fine

I am not very familiar with the T-Zones "hack" that was out but I remember having to run something in Cydia to get it to work. It may have been something as simple as changing the APN for you but is that still something that pertains to this?

Might want to check that out; again the info I am going off of was from a year or so ago but may still want to look into it.

    Edit:

May want to try another APN; epc.tmobile.com

I thought T-Mobile blocked the iPhone from it's data networks... odd.

I'm wondering if this is my problem. It gets an IP address from T-Mo, but it doesn't work. Is there some way to change what it shows up as? (Sorta like a user agent switcher?)

If they know you are on an iPhone they will (or at least I have heard they will).

So far they cannot trace the IMEI number so the only way they know if you are using an iPhone is if you tell them.

Hmm... what on the iPhone could be causing issues? Does it not connect to WAP sites the same way my Treo 650 does? I just pulled the SIM, and an identical config (epc.tmobile.com) works fine on the treo, but not the iphone.

Doing a search and found some info:

Might want to look at post #13 first; if that doesn't work maybe try what he suggests in #4: link.

THANKS!! I tried post #4, and it worked flawlessly (after a reboot). Thanks for ending my frustration!
