2G Ipod Touch Restore from 2.2.1 to 2.1.1 [RESOLVED]

I'm on a windows vista computer, but I do have access to a mac if that would help. Also iTunes is updated to the newest software. I have an Ipod Touch 2nd Generation, and I want to restore it and change the firmware from 2.2.1 to the earlier version 2.1.1. I went about this by shift clicking the restore button and choosing the 2.1.1 firmware. When the restore is done it says "The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (20)." The only way I can restore my iPod is if I use the 2.2.1 file, and nothing else.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

Put it into DFU, then shift+click restore and choose the 2.1.1 firmware.

Ah. Thanks. I realized it wouldn't go into DFU the first time I tried. But the second time it went into DFU. Thanks!
